Today is the day! It’s the official launch for Chameleon, The Ravensmoore Chronicles, Book Two. If you are a historical romance fan who loves the mystery/suspense element in your novels than you should definitely read the first chapter of Chameleon here. If you like it and you’re interested in leaving your comment and e-mail addy you could win an autographed copy of both books in the series. And my publisher, Charisma Media, Realms has also agreed to send a set of the books to a lucky winner.
So what’s this book about? Here’s the back cover copy.
Lady Victoria Grayson has always considered herself a keen observer of human behavior. After battling a chronic childhood illness that kept her homebound for years, she journeys to London determined to have the adventure of a lifetime.
Jaded by his wartime profession as a spy, Lord Witt, understands, more than most, that everyone is not always who they pretend to be. He meets Victoria after the regent requests an investigation into the activities of her physician brother, Lord Ravensmoore.
Witt and Victoria become increasingly entangled in a plot targeting the lords of Parliament. Victoria is forced to question how well she knows those close to her while challenging Witt’s cynical nature and doubts about God. Together they must confront their pasts in order to solve a mystery that could devastate their future.
Last week I asked about Series or Stand Alone? over at the Realms Blog. This week I’d like to know if you are buying more books for your Kindles and Nooks, etc., or if you are buying more print books and why? How do you make your decision? I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
I’LL POST A WINNER FOR THE 2 SETS OF BOOKS ON SATURDAY MAY 20TH. ALL COMMENTS MUST BE IN NO LATER THAN FRIDAY NIGHT EST. AND I CAN ONLY OFFER THESE BOOKS TO READERS WITHIN THE U.S.A. PLEASE DON’T FORGET YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESSES.
Great question, Jillian. I only have the Kindle app for my PC, so I mostly use it for freebies. I have bought a few Spyglass Lane Mysteries (99 cents) to complete my collection of Heartsong Presents/Hometown Mysteries.
I buy print books as often as I can, probably about five a month. I just love everything about print books…the smell, the feel, the sound of turning pages…I couldn’t live without them. Now if I only had time to read them all. =)
BTW, I saw Chameleon at my local bookstore on Saturday. I’m really looking forward to reading both Secrets of the Heart and Chameleon.
Thanks for the chance to win. My email is eviesmommo at yahoo dot com.
Hi Jenny,
I was using my Kindle all the time and love the light on it for reading in bed. Then I bought my hubby the Mighty Bright at Barnes and Noble and I was always stealing it from him for my print books. Now I’m using the reading light with my books more than my Kindle. Maybe that will change again, but I like my print books. Or maybe there’s just an advantage and fun to having both. 🙂
I’m so excited that you saw Chameleon in your local bookstore. Yippee!!!
I am so excited about this!
I absolutely LOVE historical romance novels! This series has gripped my attention. The last time I was this interested in historical fiction was with Davis T Bunn & Janette Oke’s “Song of Acadia” series and David T & Isabella Bunn’s “Heirs of Acadia.”
Not to mention that Lord Witt has caught my attention as well because, yes!, this is my last name, too! I loved the First Chapter preview and I can’t wait to get my hands on the book!
Most of my books on my Kindle are freebies and I enjoy the easiness of reading when I travel. However, I like getting print copies as well since I enjoy the hard copy while reading at home.
I am looking forward to a chance of winning! My email address is witt.michelle@ymail.com
Hi Michelle,
I just love your last name! 🙂 But I love your enthusiasm more. I hope that when you do get around to reading the books that you want them for your keeper shelf. Now that you mention it, I haven’t been traveling much at all this year, maybe that’s why I haven’t used my Kindle as often as I was using it. Thanks for joining the conversation, Michelle.
I have a Kindle but find that I reach for a hard copy to read before reaching for my Kindle. I love the feel of holding a “real” book. I am anxiously awaiting Chameleon and I loved Secrets of the Heart!
Would love to win =) cluedn@embarqmail.com
Hi Tammy!
Thanks so much for the kind words about Secrets of the Heart, and for joining this conversation. I think e-readers are here to stay and I’m good with that but I’m thinking when readers are relaxing at home, but like you, they may be picking up those print books first. If you win you’ll get both copies and give Secrets to a friend. 🙂
Woohoo, Jillian! So thrilled for you! 🙂
I read more books on my e-readers these days, but still nothing beats the feel of a book-binding in my hands. 🙂
Hi Emily!
Thanks for weighing in. Love a new book in my hands the most. 🙂
Congrats!
I enjoy reading hard copy books, but have been buying eBooks for my Kindle like crazy lately because they are so cheap and instantly in my hands for reading.
But my heart will always lie with hard copy books. 🙂
Hi Ruth,
You must be careful when you start buying those e-books, they just seem to populate my kindle when I get on a roll. I say it’s like Star Trek’s, The Trouble With Tribbles. 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ6LC-olw9Q
Must watch.
